Start small – scale up quickly

There is a lot of talk about Industry 4.0 and IIoT, and many are left with the perception that IIoT projects are complicated, difficult, time-consuming and expensive. But they don’t have to be.

Digitread IoT’s approach is to create solutions which start by collecting key data from existing devices and systems that are already available at the customers’ premises. The data is uploaded into the cloud and the conditions and status of the asset can be monitored via an app, for example to check if the temperature is right or that the pressure in a tank is not too high.

Digitread IoT’s solutions are based on open standards and open interfaces. This means that the platform where the applications are located and created does not depend on the data coming from special suppliers. This is a great advantage, especially in cases where there is a need for data to be collected both from existing systems and from new devices.

Multiple disciplines. Christoffer Lange and Torben-H. Wölke have complementary expertise in several disciplines. It is crucial to create the best solutions.

The point is to have a practical approach to aid start-up quickly and easily. Gradually, the IIoT solutions can be expanded and scaled up with new sensors and multiple data sources to create even better applications that can be used for analysis in order to understand and improve production processes.

When real-time data is analyzed, it becomes easier to predict the necessary maintenance and thus at the same time makes it easier to avoid unwanted downtime on the production equipment. When real-time monitoring occurs automatically, the data is also well-suited as a basis for developing solutions that include the ability to send alarm notifications if something is wrong.
